Disc Doctor uses 2 techniques in order to bring optimal comfort and pain relief to every patient that walks through our doors. The first type is called a diversified adjustment, which is the traditional approach used in chiropractic when limited motion has been detected in the spine. This is a hands-on technique that can correct this problem by providing a wider range of motion to the spine.
The second technique uses an instrument called a ProAdjuster that can first detect and then correct a problem with limited motion in the spine, joints and throughout the rest of the body. If you’re the type of patient that doesn’t like cracking, popping or twisting, this would be the right solution for you. It’s also an effective alternative for elderly patients and the very young.
It is a safe method with a proven track record. The instrument is highly sensitive and can track down the areas on the spine that aren’t moving properly. Adjustments are provided using a repetitive gentle tapping until the correct motion has been restored.
This is a stretch and release type of technique that can help heal lesions on the spine. It is primarily used to treat degenerative disc disease, herniation and disc bulges. Spinal decompression has proven to be 85% effective in preventing back surgeries that are due to injuries of the disc.
This treatment can also help reduce the symptoms that may arise due to the following conditions:
- Spinal stenosis
- Degenerative joint disease
- Facet syndrome
- Radicular pain (pain that radiates into the legs and feet or the arms and hands)
- Impingement of the spinal root
- Spinal hypomobility
Traction therapy relaxes the soft tissues and the muscles that surround the spine. The patient is asked to lie down on a roller bed with rollers that glide up towards the neck or down towards the lower back. These rollers travel up and down the spine creating a type of vacuum effect that brings more fluid into the discs to increase the flexibility and range of motion in the spine.
The Laser Touch One is a portable, handheld pain-relieving device that uses a combination of 2 proven therapies including electrical stimulation and cold laser treatments. A low-level light penetrates into the tissues of the body for the cells to absorb. This stimulates natural repairing at a cellular level. Electrical stimulation allows the nerves to block pain receptors while producing endorphins to relieve pain. Laser therapy can help with a number of conditions including new injuries and problems in the extremities.
This is a pain control therapy that can provide immediate relief. The chiropractor will place electrode pads onto the skin to send electrical impulses to the muscles. These impulses block pain receptors from reaching the brain while stimulating extra blood flow to the region to help heal the tissues.
In order to treat the patient as a whole, nutritional counseling is also provided. We will give you special forms to fill out at home where you can record the food you consume daily. The doctor will look over these forms with you once they have been completed and will recommend any dietary changes that may be necessary. As well, you’ll find out whether any supplements should be incorporated into your diet. Our office recommends the following supplement brands: Chiropractor’s Blend, Standard Process, Nordic Naturals and Metagenics.
Our office provides corporate lectures to local businesses and we also offer complimentary evaluations of the spine. We give a lecture called “The Peak Energy Performance Challenge” and this talk, combined with the evaluations, can increase the safety, productivity and energy level of your employees.
Please let us know if you would be interested in having a chiropractor visit your place of business to conduct free spinal screenings and conduct our workshop free of charge.
Our office provides complementary spinal evaluations at various health fairs and community events. This allows our chiropractic clinic to reach out to the community and help others become more aware of spinal issues and healing techniques.
